Partner With the Initiative
We are actively seeking partnerships with institutions and organizations committed to addressing the challenge of unclaimed remains in Florida.
The Unclaimed Lives Research Initiative recognizes that addressing the complex challenge of unclaimed remains requires collaboration across disciplines, institutions, and sectors. We welcome partnerships that advance our shared understanding of this issue and contribute to meaningful policy change. Below are the four primary collaboration tracks we have identified, though we remain open to other forms of engagement.
Academic & Research Institutions
We seek partnerships with universities, research centers, and individual scholars working in related fields — including demography, public health, sociology, social work, and public policy. Collaborative opportunities include joint research projects, data sharing agreements, and co-authored publications.
Medical Examiner Offices
Medical examiners play a central role in the disposition of unclaimed remains. We welcome partnerships with ME offices across Florida to improve data collection, standardize reporting practices, and develop shared resources for tracking unclaimed cases.
County & Public Health Agencies
County administrators, public health departments, and social services agencies are key stakeholders in addressing the unclaimed remains challenge. We seek to collaborate on data access, policy development, and the implementation of evidence-based interventions.
Nonprofit & Community Organizations
Nonprofits working with vulnerable populations — including those serving the elderly, homeless, veterans, and individuals with mental health challenges — are essential partners. We welcome collaboration on outreach, prevention, and community-based solutions.
